Biography

After graduating as a MD and DNB in Radiology from the renowned Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai; Dr Darshana Sanghvi, joined KEM Hospital & Seth GS Medical College as Consultant Radiologist & Assistant Professor. During her tenure at KEM Hospital she completed visiting fellowships at Cleveland Clinic for MSK Imaging and MGH, Boston for Advanced Neuroradiology through a grant from the department of Science and Technology, GOI which awarded her the BOYSCAST travelling fellowship. In 2009, she joined KDAH where she has consulted for more than a decade, with a major focus on advanced MRI. She has mentored several post graduate students as a DNB teacher and is the author of numerous peer reviewed publications in high impact journals as well as textbook chapters.

KDAH Experience

Dr Darshana Sanghvi specialises in Neuro and Musculoskeletal MRI. The MRI facility is a critical component of multidisciplinary Stroke, Dementia, Movement Disorder and Epilepsy teams of the Neurology Department. Specialised imaging of the bones and joints is a key contributor to the sports medicine, trauma and joint replacement facilities at the Orthopedic department.

Clinical services offered by the MRI department provide accurate diagnoses directing prognosis and effective management strategy. Complex cases are discussed in weekly multidisciplinary meetings. In addition to clinical work, the department is involved in teaching and research with numerous academic contributions. The department has state of the art MRI equipment including two 3 Tesla MRI scanners and a unique intra-operative MRI facility (IMRIS).

Achivements

More than 45 publications in peer reviewed journals as well as textbook chapters, national and international conference presentations. Publications include editorial commentaries, original scientific studies and review articles.
