I saw Dr. Gajjar in 2013, after seeing 3 other doctors and being unable to resolve the issues I was facing. He was quick in diagnosing the issue, explained the situation in a very clear and comprehensible manner and stated all the options I had along with his recommendation.
My experience was good both the times and would highly recommend Dr Gajjar and the hospital to everyone. Now my Right hand Shoulder is like normal and I am sure my left shoulder will also get better soon. I am thankful to Dr Gajjar and pray to God to give him lots of success in his career.
The manner in which he helped me understand the exact nature of my injury, the way in which he encouraged me to undergo the surgery and the confidence he gave me that I could go on a wild life trip to Tadoba National Park, Nagpur within one month of surgery, was extraordinary, because some of my friends who had sustained similar injury had very restricted movements for at least two months post the surgery.
Dr Gajjar not only surprised me with his consummate knowledge of the subject matter but with the measured detailed explanation of the injury & the entire physiology of the affected area...of course add to that his young age doubly helped in disarming me . Of course, he added the phrase ACL - Anterior Cruciate Ligament - in my lexicon forever!!!
The surgery was decided as the optimal long term solution, but more importantly Dr Gajjar made me feel like a true footballer by mentioning that this ACL is routine footballing injury sustained by the Premier League professionals...!!! Actually, it was his way of putting me at ease, for that was something a patient truly cherishes from his doctor.
I went through Internet found that Dr. Gajjar has several years of experience in Sport related injuries (in UK and Australia)/ Dr. Gajjar operated (arthroscopy) and advised me to do physiotherapist. Recommended Dr. Aditi from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. (All other Physiotherapists were skeptical about my recovery. But because of Dr. Aditi's sincere effort for 14 months (3 times a week).
But after I has gone cemented total right elbow replacement by Dr. Shreyash M. Gajjar my life changed radically and I’ll be able to do what I’m unable to do before. Now I can use my hand and bend it and I’m at the top of happiness, so I want to thank all people who helped me in this matter, especially Dr. Shreyash M. Gajjar.
I was suffering from a muscle tear of shoulder for more than 6 months. As I play cricket & badminton it was difficult to bowl or do any overhead action while playing badminton. I visited many doctors in Dubai but was not satisfied.
Dr Gajjar did two operations of my Wrist and Shoulder respectively. Most people said it will take a very long time to recover the muscle tear. Also I had diabetes.
It’s been a year and I can move my Wrist and Shoulder completely which earlier pained so bad even when I moved little. I am really very thankful to Dr Shreyash Gajjar.
The care and support was exceptional. I have had on many occasions to refer people who have had shoulder problems to Dr. Shreyash Gajjar, because of his unique surgery style and his after care. Now in this year of 2016, I have complete use and range of both my arms to the extent that I have normal usage with both and no pain at all.
Post examination Dr Shreyash very calmly and assuringly advised that a surgery was not needed and that it can be treated with medications. He literally talked me out of getting a surgery done.I started the medications as advised. I saw a good change in 3 weeks time and the remaining period of treatment though long was good as things went well.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar | Shoulder Reconstruction Using The Arthrex Dog-Bone Implant
On 15th February 2013, Dr. Shreyash Gajjar, Consultant, Arthroscopy & Trauma Surgeon, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai was the first in India to perform an All-Arthroscopic Acute Acromio-Clavicular (AC) Joint Shoulder Reconstruction using the Arthrex Dog-Bone implant.
Dr. Gajjar performs Anatomic Single Bundle ACL Reconstruction, which is the latest advocated Single Bundle ACL Reconstruction technique to improve functional outcomes of ACL reconstruction compared to the conventional techniques.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar: Hip Arthroscopy assisted Surgery for Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of Hip joint using Autologous Bone Marrow Cells
On 9th August 2014, Dr Shreyash Gajjar was the 1st in India to perform this procedure.
1) AVN of the Hip joint is a condition where there is a focal loss of blood supply to the Femoral Head of the hip joint. This condition is usually seen in the young adults due to a number of causes i.e. Idiopathic, Steroid/Alcohol use, Post-traumatic, Sickle cell etc..
2) Patients presenting complaints are Pain on weight-bearing, Limp, Limitation in terminal hip movements.
3) Treatment - Early stage - Core decompression surgery wherein a drill track is created to reach the affected bone dead area which is then cleaned out & the defect area filled with bone graft +/- bone marrow cells (latest technique).
Late stage - Hip replacement
4) Whilst the Core decompression surgery is routinely performed under Fluoroscopy (Xray Image) guidance, the advantage of an Arthroscopy Assisted technique is that it gives a 3 dimensional view of the femoral head cartilage which should remain intact during the procedure. Hence, the Arthroscopy assisted technique prevents the risk of cartilage injury which is possible in Fluoroscopy guided technique. Other advantage is that any additional associated hip joint pathologies like Labral tear, synovitis, FAI etc can also be managed simultaneously.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar: All-Arthroscopic procedure for Osgood-Schlatters disease of the Knee
In 2013, Dr Shreyash Gajjar was the first in India to perform All- Arthroscopic surgical treatment for this condition. It is seen in Adolescent children usually engaged in sporting activities wherein a portion of the growing bone fails to unite with the main shin bone. The presenting complaints are pain, swelling especially with sporting activities. Surgery aimed at removing the ununited piece of bone is indicated when non- surgical treatment i.e. rest, medicines, physiotherapy fail. Surgery which is commonly performed by an open approach can result in painful scars and longer recovery time. An All- Arthroscopic technique eliminates these complications allowing quicker recovery & restores function.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar: Complex Shoulder, Elbow Replacement Surgeries
In 2014, Dr Shreyash Gajjar has performed Shoulder & Elbow Replacements in International Middle-East patients following Complex fractures from war injuries & also in Indian patients following Neglected disabling injuries with Excellent functional results.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar: All-Arthroscopic Ankle Ligament Reconstruction (ArthroBostrom procedure) for Chronic Ankle Instability
On 22nd Nov 2014, Dr Shreyash Gajjar was the 1st in India to perform this procedure.
Ankle ligament injury occurs due to sporting activities. The Lateral Ankle ligament - Anterior Talofibular ligament (ATFL) is most commonly torn. A majority of Acute ligament tears heal with Rest, Medications and good Physiotherapy. However, a small percentage, especially Complete ligament tears may fail to heal and cause persistent pain, swelling, giving way and inability to return to sports. In these cases, Surgical Reconstruction of the ATFL ligament is the preferred treatment.
Open surgical approach to reconstruct the torn ligament was the only available method until recently when an All-Arthroscopic technique has been developed. The advantages offered by an All- Arthroscopic procedure are less pain, less tissue dissection and quicker recovery with excellent functional results.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar: Elbow Ligament Reconstruction for Dislocation
On 14th March 2015, Dr Shreyash Gajjar was the 1st in India to perform this procedure using the Internal Brace technique.
Elbow dislocation which results from fall or accidental injury results in tear of one or both of the joint's supporting ligaments - Medial & Lateral Collateral ligaments.
This injury requires immediate medical treatment wherein the joint is reduced back in position. Whilst a minor form of this injury restores joint function with physiotherapy, in cases when the injury is severe, Elbow stability can only be restored with ligament reconstruction. Previously, patients own healthy tissue (tendon graft) from other areas i.e. knee joint was used for this procedure adding to donor site morbidity. However, a recent advance in technology is reconstructing these ligaments with strong suture materials (Internal brace technique) which provides excellent joint stability, function and eliminates use of patient's healthy tendon tissue.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar - Arthroscopic Hip Labral (Ligament) Repair, Impingement Surgery
Labral tears of the Hip result from sporting activities or injury & present with hip pain especially during bending movements. Surgery may be indicated when the symptoms fail to resolve with medications & physiotherapy.
Arthroscopic techniques performed by Dr Gajjar have several advantages over the traditional method of open surgery i.e. less pain, less tissue dissection and quicker recovery with excellent functional results.
Dr. Shreyash Gajjar - Arthroscopic Wrist Ligament Repair Surgery
The TFCC ligament of the wrist can be torn during sporting activities or following fall. Whilst minor injury to the ligament recovers with Medications & Physiotherapy, complete tears if symptomatic require surgical treatment. Dr Gajjar performs All-Arthroscopic techniques for ligament repair which being minimally invasive cause less tissue trauma, less pain & quicker functional recovery.
