After Death, Organs Can Be Donated within These Durations
- Heart and lungs can be preserved for 4 hours
- Livers can be preserved between 10 to 12 hours
- Pancreas can be preserved for 4 to 6 hours
- Intestines can be preserved for approximately 6 to 8 hours
- Kidneys can be preserved for 20 to 24 hours

1 organ donor can save 6 lives & up to 9 lives
You can revoke your donor status by informing the transplant centre & your family
Buying and selling or trading of organs is against the law and KDAH does not indulge in the trading or facilitating trade of organs. The public at large is warned not to fall prey to scamsters who promise money in exchange for organs.
