Coldness in your foot and leg could be a sign of high cholesterol

KDAH

High cholesterol does not often cause many warning signs but, one symptom might appear in your foot and lower leg - coldness. As cholesterol deposits continue to build up on artery walls it obstructs smooth supply of blood to different parts of the body which induces a sense of discomfort, numbness and even cold limbs – a key sign of peripheral artery disease (PAD). If you experience symptoms like brittle toenails, ulcers and sores that do not heal, pain while walking or climbing stairs, numbness and weakness in your legs, pale, shiny or bluish skin on your legs, consult a doctor and get your cholesterol levels checked.
