What is fatty liver disease?

KDAH

Fatty liver happens when excessive fat builds up in the liver causing liver inflammation which can damage the liver and cause scarring. In severe cases, the scarring can lead to liver failure. In many cases, fatty liver causes no noticeable symptoms but you may feel tired or experience pain in the upper right side of the abdomen. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, weakness, yellow skin and eyes, web-like clusters of blood vessels under your skin, abdominal swelling, swelling of legs, etc. Consult a doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms. #WorldLiverDay
