International Conclave on Total Quality Management and Recent Trends in Transfusion Medicine Hosted by Department of Transfusion Medicine

International Conclave on Total Quality Management and Recent Trends in Transfusion Medicine organised by Department of Transfusion Medicine of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai in association with South Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (SAATM) and Federation of Bombay Blood Banks (FBBB)

Dr. Ram Narain, Executive Director, Kokilaben Hospital, delivered his welcome address and emphasised on doing Ordinary things extraordinarily to achieve Quality.

Dr. Nidhi Mehta, Organising Secretary of the Conclave introduced the event by sharing her experience of planning and organising the event.

February 25th India celebrated centenary of our National Anthem, so Dr Nidhi Mehta requested all to stand in respect to the National Anthem.

Main Objective of this conclave was discussing quality aspects, Quality system implementations in transfusion medicine and to know new trends in Transfusion Medicine.

The focus was on gathering collective experiences. About 500 eminent medical fraternity members including international speakers from Srilanka, Bangladesh & Nepal attended this program.

As part of this conclave, we conducted Pre-Conference Workshop (February 24th 2012) on Antibody Screening & Identification with an objective to enhance the knowledge and skills of the key operator on this new approach & practice. Workshop was attended by 40 delegates from different institutions. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Nidhi Mehta.
