Be cautious of Leptospirosis this season

KDAH

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease often linked to exposure to contaminated floodwaters. The bacteria can enter the body through cuts or broken skin and may cause symptoms like high fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, vomiting, jaundice, red eyes, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and rash. Some individuals may show no symptoms at all. If untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as kidney damage, meningitis, liver failure, respiratory distress, and even death. After walking through floodwaters, be sure to wash your hands and feet thoroughly. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your doctor immediately. #MonsoonTips #Leptospirosis #HealthAwareness #RainySeasonSafety #StayHealthy
