What are lymph nodes?

KDAH

Lymph nodes are the round and bean-shaped glands that attack bacteria and viruses that can make you sick. They are located in your head, neck, armpits as well as your groin area. They get swollen when they are fighting germs. However, if the glands stay swollen for more than 5 days in children or 4 weeks in adults you need to consult a doctor.
