Talk on Medicine and Science for Ultra-endurance Running

You are invited to attend the upcoming FREE talk on Medicine and Science for Ultra-endurance Running This talk will include education and advice on Strength and Conditioning for Endurance Running.

With TMM just finished, and Comrades Marathon just 120 days away, we want to give you all the vital information you will need, whether running the event itself, training athletes for the event, or treating runners currently preparing for Comrades 2020.

Research shows that runners who spent 8-12 weeks training strength and conditioning prior to an endurance race, had:

  • IMPROVED ENDURANCE
  • IMPROVED RUNNING ECONOMY
  • IMPROVED RUNNING INTENSITY AT LACTATE THRESHOLD
  • IMPROVED ANAEROBIC CAPACITY

When compared to runners who did not do the same strength training.

Where: 6th floor Conference Centre, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital
When: Wedmesday, 26 February 2020; 19.00 - 20.30

Please RSVP via telephone on 022 3097 2661/0062 or via WhatsApp to Chris Pedra with your name and phone number as well as ‘runner’, ‘trainer’ or ‘clinician’ on +918080344388

We would love the talk to not only enlighten you and improve your experience on the roads, but also to act as a forum for questions and discussion, so please attend if you have any questions or queries about your current training, running injury myths, any aches/pains, are looking to improve your performance, or anything else ultra-endurance running related you’d like to discuss really!

PLEASE NOTE: seats are limited, so we would like to prioritize Comrades 2020 participants, their coaches, and physiotherapists/sports medicine doctors treating endurance runners.

We look forward to hosting you.
