Dr. Shyam Varma has vast experience of over 18 years working at various Government and Corporate hospitals in Mumbai and Hyderabad. After finishing his super specialty in Urology at Sion hospital, he joined Apollo hospital, Hyderabad followed by KIMS and Care hospital. He got himself trained later for advanced laparoscopic surgery and renal transplant surgery at Lakeshore hospital, Kochi. After finishing his fellowship at Lakeshore hospital, he joined Continental hospital, Hyderabad and was serving patients there for over 7 years.

CLINICAL RESEARCH:

• An open label comparative multicentric study study to assess the efficacy and safety of Trospium chloride tablets in comparison with oxybutynin hydrochloride tablets in patients with overactive bladder.
• A prospective, multicentre, active and placebo controlled, randomized, double blind phase II study to compare the pharmacodynamics, preliminary efficacy and safety of SVT - 40776 0.1mg and SVT - 40776 0.2 mg to that of tolterodine 4 mg and placebo administered as oral daily dose for 4 weeks in patients suffering from overactive bladder syndrome.
• A study of mycobacterium w plus docetaxel for hormone refractory metastatic prostate cancer (open label, twoarm, multicentre, phase II clinical trail) ---ongoing trial.
• Study of combination of Tamsulosin and Dutasteride in Treatment of BPH
• A multicentre, double blind, randomized, prospective study in BPH patients with Charak Pharma :2006.
