Mr. Zo Tahina Razafindramboa, Madagascar

My name is Zo Tahina. I am 38 years old and I have had bilateral keratoconus since the age of 20. Before my corneal transplant, my vision was very blurry and I was unable to see without my contact lenses clearly.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 keratoconus in both eyes. It was not possible to do this surgery in Madagascar. I was recommended Kokilaben Hospital by my relatives. That is how I learned about the hospital and contacted their office in Antananarivo.

From the moment I arrived and throughout my treatment, regular examinations were carried out to ensure the best diagnosis and precise follow-up.

Dr. Shruti Wasnik took charge of my case and explained the treatment process, which was carried out in two stages: first the injections, then the corneal transplant during two trips to Mumbai. I was reassured by their professionalism.

After the operation, I had to be very careful, especially by staying in a clean environment to avoid any infection. About ten days after the transplant in my right eye, I noticed a real improvement: I was able to read television subtitles without needing my glasses.

I am currently in the consolidation phase the results in my right eye. The corneal transplant for my left eye can be performed in a few years, once my right eye is completely stable, if deemed necessary.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Shruti Wasnik, the entire team at Kokilaben Hospital, and our coordinator and translator, Mrs. Roshni Chandiramani, who supported and helped us throughout the journey.

If you are in the same situation, my advice is simply to place your complete trust in the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital team.
