My Thyroid Surgery Experience at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai
My name is Gachuruzi Ahadi Regine, I'm 25 years old, and I want to share my story with those going through a similar situation. I traveled from Kinshasa (DRC) to Mumbai (India) to undergo thyroid surgery at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
Throughout this journey, I was accompanied by my father, which was a great comfort to me.
My first visit to the hospital was on May 8, 2025, where I began a series of medical tests in preparation for the operation. After several days of preparation, I entered the hospital on May 15, 2025, and on May 16, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., I underwent surgery. The operation was performed by Dr. Sanjiv Badhwar, an ENT surgeon specializing in thyroid diseases.
I am extremely grateful for his professionalism, precision, and kindness. I also thank Jenis John Rumao, my interpreter, who accompanied me throughout the process. Thanks to her, I felt understood, listened to, and supported every step of the way.
Today, a few days after the procedure, I feel good. I am gradually recovering, the pain is manageable, and I am already experiencing real physical and mental relief. I am proud to have made this decision for my health.
